New Look...

What do you think of the blog's new look for summer? A little brighter! Less black! Thought it might be a nice change!?

More Fun At the Playground...

As of yesterday I can finally claim that I took BOTH of the kids to the playground- by myself. It's not an easy task. DS has absolutely no fear. He will climb anything and everything- whether or not there is someone nearby to save him. And DD... she only wants to swing. She could swing for hours. So, it usually works better to have two adults- one for each. However, with school out for the summer, and too many free hours in the day for them to drive me insane at home... I needed to see if it would be possible for me to do it alone. And it was a piece of cake. At least this time.

Necessity is the Mother of Invention...

Help! DS will not keep his hand out of his pants! Now, I know this is a normal "phase"... although if most of the men I know are any indication, it's not a "phase" that he will ever outgrow. And if that's not bad enough... he now feels it necessary to pull his diaper down and expose his "boy-parts". Not exactly appropriate for school and therapy.
So, the geek and I figured we would just dress him in one-piece pajamas for a while until he got over it. That worked for a few weeks. Except now he knows how to unzip them, so it's started again.
What to do? Well, for now we are blocking the zipper with a safety pin. It's working... but does anyone have any other suggestions? We can't really dress him in pajamas all summer!

It Was A Rough Weekend...

I came home from running a few errands on Memorial Day, and the geek greeted me at the door telling me to follow him. This is what I saw when I entered the hallway...

Yes, he is sleeping like that! The geek swears that not even two minutes before this, DS was running through the house like a crazy man. I guess the weekend caught up with him!

Whoo-hoo!

All Went Well...

Everything went well with DD's tubes this morning. There were lots of tears and a bit of screaming, but in the end, it was probably more traumatic for me than it was for her. Here are a few pics I took with my phone... enjoy!

So Excited...

The official "New Moon" poster was released today! It was supposed to be released in major newspapers across the country... if anyone comes across a copy, save it for me. I need to run out and take a look at the Register to see if there's one in there.
November 20th can't come soon enough!

Poor Baby Girl...

Guess who woke up this morning with a 103 degree fever?

Thank goodness they're doing the tubes next week. Hopefully that will help?!

ENT Update...

We just got back from the ENT with DD, and of course, she needs tubes put in her ears. If it's not one thing, it's another. Just one time I would like to take the kids to the doctor and have them say, "No, they don't have whatever you're thinking they have." I guess I should be happy that I know my children so well I can pretty much diagnosis them, but I would rather be wrong.

Happy Birthday Robert!

I apologize in advance to the geek, but I just have to do this. I have to wish my "boyfriend" Robert Pattinson a happy 23rd birthday today. Maybe he checks my blog?! I wouldn't want to hurt his feelings! ;)

Ain't It the Truth?

A McDonald's Mother's Day

The kids and I made the two-hour trek yesterday to Mason City to meet with Grandma Sharon and Uncle Lucas for a Mother's Day lunch. Unfortunately, Aunt Heather and Cousin Zander were both sick, so they weren't able to be there. We had a great time eating and playing in the playcenter. DS climbed to the highest possible point in the playcenter... only to need to be rescued by Uncle Luke.
I will post pics as soon as possible! It was a great day!
