On Saturday night, the other TwiMoms and myself attended the TwiTour Ball. Basically we got all dressed up... and proceeded to act crazy and make fools of ourselves! This was also another opportunity to "mingle" with some of the actors. Chaske Spencer, Bronson Pelletier and Christian Serratos were there for a bit and The Hillywood Show (there will be a post dedicated to them soon) kept the party going! A great time was had by all!

TwiTour 2009- Saturday

Saturday was pretty much devoted to the wolf pack. Now, I'm ALL Team Edward, but even I appreciate a little eye candy!!! The two "wolves" are Chaske Spencer who is playing "Sam" in "New Moon" and Bronson Pelletier who is playing "Jared". These guys have no idea what they're in for... next year, they won't even be able to walk down the street!
Another guest on Saturday was Christian Serratos who played "Angela" in the movie. She had on the coolest pants and shoes... black sequins. She also had a fake "Hello Kitty" tattoo on her arm! She was so beautiful and very gracious to the audience!
Also, I apologize for how crappy these pictures are. The lighting wasn't that great at the convention site, and my camera isn't cut out for zooming in. Maybe I'll get a new camera before the Chicago convention in October! Yes, I'm headed to another one!! Thank you to the geek!

TwiTour 2009- Friday Nite!
Here are a few pics from Friday night- supper at Hard Rock Cafe with the other TwilightMoms (http://www.twilightmoms.com)! Disclaimer- you must be SOMEWHAT crazy to be a member of TwilightMoms. As these pics show- we fill the crazy quota!
A couple of us also brought along our "Pocket Edwards" (since Robert Pattinson himself couldn't join us).
I also just have to tell this story...
I am a night-owl. I rarely go to bed before 1-2am. However, Friday night I decided to head to bed early with my roomies, since they were all exhausted and I didn't want to wake them up by coming to bed later. In the morning I learned that a few of the other moms had run into Peter Facinelli in the hotel bar and hung out with him much of the night. It seems he had forgotten his passport (he was supposed to fly to London that night), so he was stuck there another day. Of all the nights to go to bed early!

TwiTour 2009- Friday
I thought I would post each day's pics separately... here are Friday's! Friday's special guests were Peter Facinelli (Carlisle Cullen) and Gil Birmingham (Billy Black). Both of them were wonderful! Funny and SO talented! Gil played guitar during his Q&A- he is actually very good. Peter told the best stories about his family. For those of you who don't know, Peter is married to Jennie Garth (of 90210 fame).
On Friday I also had the honor of attending a wine and cheese tasting with Peter along with five other girls. It really was a once-in-a-lifetime experience- something I will never forget! No pics from that (against the rules), but I did get a picture and hug from him when he signed autographs later in the day. Just waitng for that pic to get emailed to me and I will post it!

A Funny Story...

So, last night I am in line waiting for the midnight showing of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince". This movie is going to post AMAZING numbers if that line was any indication of what the rest of the country was doing... it weaved all the way through the parking lot of the theater. Anyway, after "Twilight", I am totally comfortable being "the old lady all alone waiting for the teen movie". Sometimes I'll chat with the kids around me, but usually I just people-watch and eavesdrop.
Anyway, I'm surrounded on all sides by high school kids. And they are all making out in front of me... so I'm feeling a little uncomfortable (and disgusted if I'm being honest). Then I hear this group start talking... here's a run-down of their conversation.
Girl #1: Have you ever heard of Simon and Garfunkel?
Girl #2: I don't think so. Who are they?
Girl #1: They're these two old guys. They're awesome. They sing "Mrs. Robinson".
Girl #2: Yeah, I know that song. They played it at so-and-so's party. There's a tall guy and short guy right?
Girl #1: Yeah, Simon is the tall one; Garfunkel is the short one.
Right there I want to turn around and tell the girl that she's wrong, but I just wait it out...
Girl #2: Are you sure? I thought Simon was the short one. Doesn't Garfunkel have a fro? He's the tall one.
Boy #1 (who just started talking out of the blue): Yeah, I think she's right. Garfunkel is the tall one.
Girl #1: No, I'm positive he's the short one.
This continues for a while. One of them actually gets out their phone to Google which one is the tall one and which one is the short one. Meanwhile, I am laughing to myself... and wondering if I should just turn around and correct her.
Boy #1: Yep, Garfunkel is the tall one. See? (he shows her his phone with proof)
Girl #1: Fine, I still think that's wrong. Garfunkel sounds like a troll or elf name to me... he can't possibly be tall. Wasn't that the name of the bad guy on the Smurfs? He just doesn't sound like he should be tall.
Seriously, that was her reasoning?

This Is Not A Complaint...

I know I really shouldn't complain about this, but I'm going to vent a little anyway. When I first bought tickets for the "Twilight" convention I was super excited that a majority of the major actors from the movie were going to be there. Minus Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, of course.
However, it started happening a few weeks ago... the line-up changed. First, Kellan and Mike canceled. Then Billy. Then Jackson. And now Ashley. Of the original line-up, only Peter remains (who is my favorite after Robert, so I'm still excited about that). Anyway, I know beggars can't be choosers... and I'm still psyched to see the actors they have replaced them with. Including the director, Catherine Hardwicke, who is awesome.
Still, I am a little bummed. I was all ready to get my photo ops with each of them... and add them to my "Twilight" shrine. Eventually I will have my pic with all of them. It's just going to take a little longer now.

"Bay-bay"

DS seriously loves this book. It is really too young for him- I think we got it when DD was just a baby. We have resorted to hiding it from him- only letting him have it when he's really upset or if we need to distract him during a diaper change or something. Tonight we let him have it in order to give him some medicine... and we probably read it over 20 times to him.
But it was great tonight, because each time we finished reading it, he would babble on and on for a while... always ending his little babble with "bay-bay". Sure did sound like "baby" to us... with a little French accent!
